Consignor Privacy Notice
Last updated 30 September 2026. This notice applies to clients who leave a piece with JULL for sale on consignment. Our general Privacy Policy applies to everything else.
Who we are
BY JULL LTD (company no. 17144844, England and Wales), registered office 255-261 Horn Lane, London W3 9EH, trading from Harbour Yard, Chelsea Harbour, London SW10 0XD, is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@byjull.com.
What we collect when you consign a piece
Your name, email address, phone number and postal address; the details of the item you leave with us and the photographs we take of it; your electronic signature and the signing record (date and time, IP address, device); a copy of your government photo ID and, where you provide it, proof of purchase; and the bank account we pay you to.
Why we use it
To perform the Drop-off Receipt and the Consignment Agreement with you (contract); to verify your identity and the provenance of the item and to prevent fraud and money laundering (legal obligation and legitimate interests); to pay you (contract); to keep the records a business must keep for tax and accounting (legal obligation); and to contact you about the item (contract).
Who sees it
Our staff who handle consignments; our payment and banking providers; our email and hosting providers (Resend, Vercel, Supabase — data stored in the EU/UK or under standard contractual clauses); a third-party authentication service if we use one, which receives item details and photographs but not your identity documents; and HMRC, the police or a court where the law requires. We never sell your data and we never publish your name with a listing.
How long we keep it
Signed documents, the signing record, identity documents and payment records: 6 years after the consignment ends, as required for anti-money-laundering and tax records. Item photographs: while the item is listed and for 6 years after as part of the sale record. Contact details: while you are a client and for 2 years after the last contact.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, object to our use of it, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Write to hello@byjull.com. Identity documents kept as anti-money-laundering records cannot be deleted before the retention period ends.
