The Hermès Haut à Dos PM in Craie is the house's most relaxed and quietly modern take on the backpack: a soft, chalky off-white that sits between cream and stone, rendered in supple Togo leather with palladium hardware. Clean, luminous and effortlessly versatile, it is a neutral with real presence. Togo is among the most beloved Hermès leathers, a full-grain calfskin with a lightly pebbled surface that is soft to the touch yet remarkably durable, resistant to scratches and gentle enough to slouch naturally with use. In Craie, the grain catches the light with a gentle, matte glow, and the pale tone sets off the cool brightness of the palladium turnlock and hardware. The Haut à Dos, or HAC à Dos, was designed as an answer to the Hermès Haut à Courroies, translated into a streamlined rucksack. Its structured flap closes with the signature turnlock, a hidden interior keeps essentials secure, and wide adjustable straps make it comfortable to carry from the city to the airport. The PM size is compact and refined, large enough for a tablet, wallet, phone and small daily necessities, yet slim enough to wear with tailoring as easily as with knitwear and denim. This example carries a blind stamp G and is offered in store-fresh condition, authenticated by JULL London. Craie is a notoriously elegant colour and, as with all pale Hermès leathers, a clean, unworn example is highly sought after by collectors who appreciate the contrast between a light palette and understated hardware.
