Rose Lipstick is one of the pinks Hermès has never released casually: a saturated, blue-leaning rose that reads sharp rather than sugary, and that surfaces only intermittently across the catalogue. Finding it on a Mini Kelly — the twenty-centimetre Kelly II that boutique waiting lists have effectively closed to walk-in clients — is rarer still. Here the colour is finished with palladium hardware, which cools it by a shade and gives the bag a crisper, more contemporary edge than gold would. Priced at £19,500. Chèvre is the leather that lets this shade show its full depth. Goatskin takes dye with unusual clarity, and its fine, faintly rippled grain carries a soft natural sheen that shifts as the bag moves through the light. It is also, structurally, one of the house's most dependable skins: light in the hand, rigid enough to hold the sellier silhouette without slouching, and famously resistant to scratches and the marks of everyday use. Chèvre pieces are the ones still standing straight decades after softer leathers have relaxed. The Mini Kelly itself needs little introduction. It is the silhouette that defines the current Hermès market: small enough to be worn as jewellery, structured enough to be unmistakably a Kelly, with a strap that carries it on the shoulder or across the body and a top handle for the hand. The palladium turnlock, sangles and feet are bright and unmarked, the interior is clean, and the blind stamp A dates the piece to 2017. This Mini Kelly is offered in unworn condition.
