A Kelly 20 Touch in Sesame Madame and Jaune Ambre shiny alligator, finished with palladium hardware — a piece that occupies a precise position between the workaday and the extraordinary. Year K stamp, unworn condition. The Touch is Hermès's answer to a question the Kelly's admirers had long been asking: how to bring exotic skin into the silhouette without surrendering its fundamental utility. The 20 is the smallest of the formal Kelly sizes, structured and self-contained, suited to an evening that begins in a boardroom and ends somewhere rather better. Those who reach for it tend not to want a bag that announces itself in volume; they want one that holds its ground quietly. Sesame is a dry, warm neutral — closer to pale sand with a faint grey undertone than to any conventional beige. On Madame, which has a slight natural grain and a matte finish, it reads as completely unforced, the kind of colour that asks nothing of what is worn alongside it. The Jaune Ambre alligator panels shift the reading entirely: that amber-gold, lacquered and luminous against shiny skin, turns what might have been a straightforward neutral into something with genuine presence. The contrast between the two leathers — one quiet, one reflective — is the Touch's point. Palladium hardware sits cool and bright against both materials without competing with the alligator's warmth.
