A Kelly 20 Touch in Vert d'eau, worked in a pairing of Madame calfskin and matte alligator with palladium hardware. This is a bag that rewards close looking — the contrast of textures is the point, and here it is executed without flaw. G stamp, unworn. The Touch iteration of the Kelly was conceived to do what the house rarely permits itself to do openly: to show off. The silhouette is the classic Kelly 20 compressed to its most precise proportions, but panels of matte alligator are set against smooth Madame calfskin so that the structure reads differently depending on the light and the angle. It is a collector's bag and an evening bag, reaching for occasions where a standard Kelly would be almost too discreet. The 20 size keeps it self-contained — enough to carry what an evening demands, nothing more. Vert d'eau is a pale, almost mineral green with a strong grey undertone; the name translates literally as water green, and the colour does carry something of still water in low light rather than anything botanical. On Madame calfskin it sits with a quiet, powdery quality. Against matte alligator the same colour deepens slightly, the natural variation in the skin giving it movement without any shift in hue. Together the two leathers make the colour do two different things at once. Palladium hardware — cool, slightly satin in its finish — keeps the palette coherent without competing with it.
