Few silhouettes in the Hermès canon carry the weight of the Birkin whilst remaining, day to day, so straightforwardly useful. The 25 is the smallest of the principal sizes: it is chosen by those who want the full architecture of the design — the structured trapeze, the turned-down flap, the signature closure — contained within something that moves easily from desk to dinner. Nothing is sacrificed; it is simply edited. Gold in Togo is the pairing against which almost every other combination is measured. The colour sits between warm caramel and deep amber, with enough yellow undertone to read as genuinely golden in daylight and as something richer and more tobacco-tinged by evening.
