A Birkin 30 in Mimosa matte alligator with gold hardware — a combination that sits at the furthest reach of the atelier's craft. Square R stamp, unworn condition. Few silhouettes carry the weight that this one does within the house's history. Conceived for travel, refined over decades into something far more precise, the Birkin 30 occupies a particular position: large enough to be genuinely useful across a full day, compact enough to hold its shape and presence on any occasion. It is the size that collectors return to most consistently, and in alligator it represents the atelier's highest expression of the form — each panel matched by hand, each scale set in place before the leather ever meets a frame. Mimosa is a clear, saturated yellow — the colour of the flower in full sun, without the green that muddies some yellows or the orange that edges others toward amber. On matte alligator, which absorbs rather than reflects light, it reads with unusual depth. The scales hold the tone differently depending on their angle, which means the surface is never static; it shifts between a pale gold and a more concentrated citrus depending on how the light falls across it. The matte finish is what makes this restraint possible — a polished skin would push the same colour into spectacle. Gold hardware is the only hardware that belongs here, grounding the warmth of the leather without competing with it. This piece was inspected by hand in our London workroom and verified with Entrupy.
