Where can you buy a Hermès Birkin in London? There are two honest answers. The four Hermès boutiques sell the Birkin, but they do not sell it to whoever asks: a bag is offered to a client the store already knows. A specialist dealer sells it today, to anyone, at a secondary-market price. JULL is that second route, with Birkin 25, 30 and 35 on the floor in Chelsea Harbour, every one priced on the page and viewable by appointment seven days a week. The table above is counted from the shelf this morning; the Birkin gallery shows each bag.
The four London boutiques
Hermès has four places to shop in London: the flagship on New Bond Street, the store on Sloane Street, and the counters at Harrods and Selfridges. All four carry the Birkin and none of them keeps it on a shelf. There is no waiting list to join, whatever a forum says. A sales associate offers a Birkin to a client with a history at that store, usually in a size and colour the client did not choose. Our allocation guide explains how that decision is actually made.
If you already have that relationship, the boutique price is the lowest you will ever pay, and you should use it. If you do not, the boutique is a long road, and the bag at the end of it is not one you picked.
The specialist route
A specialist holds the bag already. You choose the size, the leather, the colour and the hardware, see the exact piece, and pay a price written on the page. The premium over boutique retail is the price of choosing, and of having it this week rather than in a year or two.
At JULL that looks like this:
- Stock. More than 250 pieces in stock at any time across the house, with Birkins in every core size. The Birkin 25 and Birkin 30 galleries are the deepest. - Seeing it first. Every bag can be seen in our showroom at Harbour Yard, Chelsea Harbour, SW10 0XD, by appointment seven days a week from 10:00 to 18:00, or on a live video call, before any payment is made. - Inspection. Every piece is inspected by hand before it is listed, against the standard our founder Guilherme Ribeiro learned in three years working for Hermès. The blind stamp and condition are published on each listing. The method is set out on the JULL Standard. - Reserving. A 25% deposit holds a piece for up to five days: the first £3,000 by card on the product page, the rest by bank transfer. How it works step by step is in how deposits work.
What a Birkin costs in London today
On our floor the Birkin runs from about £16,500 for a 35 in a classic leather to six figures for crocodile and alligator. The smallest size costs the most: a Birkin 25 starts at about £20,500, above the 30, because demand at the small end has run ahead of supply for years. The full breakdown by size, leather and colour is in how much a Birkin costs in 2026.
| Size | Who it suits | Gallery |
|---|---|---|
| Birkin 25 | Phone, wallet, keys; smaller frames; the most wanted size | Birkin 25 |
| Birkin 30 | A working day; the size that suits most people | Birkin 30 |
| Birkin 35 | The original everyday size; the most bag for the money | All Birkins |
Not sure which size? The Birkin size guide answers with what each one holds, not centimetres.
Auction houses and marketplaces
London auction rooms sell Birkins regularly, and the hammer price looks low until the buyer's premium and VAT are added. You buy as described in the catalogue, usually without handling the bag first. Online marketplaces are quicker, but you are buying from a stranger's photographs. Both can work; both put the checking on you. Our comparison of auction and specialist buying sets out the arithmetic.
How to check the seller before you pay
Ask four questions of anyone selling a Birkin in London. Which registered company am I paying? Are these photographs of the exact bag? Can I see it in person before the balance? Who inspected it, and what did they check? JULL is BY JULL LTD, Companies House number 17144844, and the answers to all four are on is JULL legitimate?. For the bag itself, our guide to how to tell if a Birkin is real lists what to look at.
