A Kelly Pochette in Blue Izmir shiny Niloticus crocodile with palladium hardware — a clutch that is, even by Hermès standards, something apart. Square P stamp, unworn. The Kelly Pochette occupies a very particular position within the Kelly family. It is the line stripped to its essence: the silhouette, the turn-key closure, the architectural front strap, all present, but scaled to something you carry in your hand or tuck under an arm rather than carry on a shoulder. It is not a bag for groceries or a laptop; it is a bag for an evening, a dinner, a gallery opening where what you bring is almost beside the point. Women who understand the Kelly reach for the Pochette when the full bag would be too much, and when anything less structured would be too little. Blue Izmir is a considered blue — neither the depth of Indigo nor the brightness of Bleu Électrique, but something coastal and Mediterranean, with a particular warmth beneath the surface that shifts with the light. On shiny Niloticus crocodile the effect is heightened considerably. The tile-like symmetry of Niloticus scales catches and redirects light in a way no calf leather can, so the colour reads differently from hour to hour: more considered in daylight, more vivid in the evening. The shiny finish deepens the blue's character rather than flattening it. Palladium hardware keeps the palette cool and coherent, sitting cleanly against the blue without competing with it.
