The Hermès Mini Lindy is the house's most relaxed silhouette made small: a soft, slouching bag with two rolled handles, a long detachable shoulder strap and side zips that open the body like a bellows. Introduced in the nineties and reduced to a miniature many seasons later, it has become one of the quiet favourites of collectors who want something less formal than a Kelly and less familiar than a Birkin, yet every bit as recognisably Hermès. This example is cut in Noir Taurillon Clemence, the supple, generously grained calfskin that gives the Lindy its gentle drape. Clemence is heavier and softer than Togo, with a matte surface that settles into the bag's curves over time rather than holding a rigid shape. In black it reads as pure line and texture, a piece that disappears into a dark wardrobe and lifts a pale one. The hardware is gold-plated, and on black leather it is the classic Hermès contrast: the turn-lock fastening on the front pocket, the zip pulls and the strap fittings catch the light against the deep noir ground. The Mini Lindy can be carried by hand, worn in the crook of the arm or slung across the body on its adjustable strap, which makes it one of the most practical small bags the maison produces. Its size takes a phone, cards, keys and a lipstick with ease. Ours carries a blind stamp G and is offered store fresh. Black with gold hardware is the combination most often requested in this model and among the hardest to be allocated, so a clean example rarely stays available for long.
