The Kelly Elan is Hermès at its most confident restraint — the classic Sellier silhouette drawn long and low, its proportions closer to a couture clutch than a day bag. Executed here in black shiny alligator and finished in palladium, it reads as evening jewellery you happen to carry rather than a handbag pressed into eveningwear. Alligator this dark rewards close inspection. The scale pattern is deliberately symmetrical along the centre of the front panel, saddle-stitched by hand at Hermès' Paris and Pantin ateliers, with the belly used across the flap so the tiles run in graduated size from centre to edge. Palladium closure, sangles and single side clochette — pale metal against the deep black lacquer of the scales. An evening bag by proportion, not by convention. The Kelly Elan carries a slim wallet, a phone, keys and a small compact — enough for a private dinner at Wilton's, an opening at the Serpentine, or a plated evening at Annabel's. Long enough to sit under the arm, elegant enough to rest on the table. Stamped K (2026) and store fresh, meaning it has never been carried.
