Some bags are acquired; others are fallen for. This Chanel Small Flap, quilted in powder-pink suede calfskin, belongs firmly to the second category. The colour is a soft, blushing rose — feminine without being sweet — and the suede gives the famous diamond quilting a plush, velvety depth that changes with every angle of the light. Gold-tone hardware completes the composition: the interlocking CC turn-lock at the centre of the flap, and the leather-threaded chain that remains among the most recognisable straps ever designed.
