In the vocabulary of Hermès, a casaque is a jockey's racing silk — and the Kelly Casaque borrows exactly that spirit, building the house's most ceremonial bag from panels of contrasting colour, the way silks are pieced for the track. It is a design that appears only in scattered seasonal editions, and it turns the Kelly's formality into something knowingly sporting. This Kelly 28 is cut in Epsom, the pressed calfskin whose fine, even grain holds the Sellier architecture with crisp precision and shrugs off the weather of daily use. Epsom also takes colour with particular clarity, which is precisely what a tri-colour bag demands: each panel reads clean, saturated and distinct, with the contrast stitched to millimetre accuracy.
