A Kelly Élan in matte Porosus crocodile, finished in Vert d'Eau with palladium hardware — one of the rarer expressions of this elongated silhouette, and a piece that arrives unmarked in every respect. Year K stamp, brand new condition. The Kelly Élan occupies a specific position within the Kelly family: narrower and lower-slung than the structured versions, conceived to be carried at the hand or crook of the arm when the occasion asks for restraint without sacrifice. It is an evening bag by instinct, though its proportions accommodate the essentials of a considered daytime wardrobe. Those who reach for it tend to value precision — a bag that does one thing very well rather than several things adequately. Vert d'Eau translates literally as water green, and on matte Porosus crocodile it reads differently than it would on a smooth calf: cooler, more mineral, the scales pulling the hue in slightly varying directions so that the colour shifts with the light rather than sitting flat. The matte finish on Porosus is a considered choice — it emphasises the geometry of the scale pattern without the high-contrast shimmer of a glazed skin, giving the colour a quieter authority.
