Blue Zephyr is one of the quieter blues in the Hermès register — a soft, slightly greyed sky tone that sits between Bleu Brume and Bleu Pâle, cool enough to read as a neutral and light enough to lift a winter wardrobe. It is a colour that photographs badly and wears beautifully, which is precisely why it disappears from the secondary market so quickly. In Epsom the shade holds its clarity. The pressed grain reflects light evenly across the flap rather than pooling it, so Blue Zephyr stays consistent from the front panel to the sangles rather than shifting tone at the fold. Palladium is the correct pairing here: gold would push the blue towards green, while the cool white metal keeps it clean. This is the Mini Kelly II at 20 cm — the second-generation construction, with the shoulder strap threaded through fixed rings and the turn-lock seated flush against the flap. On this example the corners are fully held, the stitch line runs even in matching thread, the lacquered edges are unmarked and the palladium plaque is unscratched. What it carries is deliberately little: a phone, a slim card case, keys, a lipstick. Worn cross-body over a navy coat or doubled short on the shoulder for a lunch, it functions as the single point of colour in an otherwise restrained outfit.
