A Birkin 25 in Craie and Black Epsom with palladium hardware — a two-tone configuration that is among the most considered the house produces. The combination arrives here in unworn condition, carrying a B stamp. At 25 centimetres, the Birkin occupies a particular position within the Hermès canon: compact enough to move through an evening without effort, structured enough to hold its own through a working day. It is the format that collectors tend to reach for when only one bag will travel, and the size that the house's ateliers execute with the least margin for compromise — every proportion is compressed, so every proportion must be exact. Craie is the French word for chalk, and on Epsom it reads as precisely that — a cool, dense off-white with no warmth or yellow in it. Epsom's tight, cross-hatched grain gives colour an almost matte quality; Craie does not glow on this leather so much as sit with a kind of mineral stillness. The Black panels — a classic Hermès two-tone application — define the edges and anchor the composition. Against Craie's neutrality, the contrast is graphic without being decorative. Palladium hardware completes the piece in the cooler register the leathers already establish, consistent rather than contrasting. This Birkin 25 was inspected by hand in our London workroom and verified with Entrupy. Private viewings are by appointment at our Chelsea Harbour showroom.
