Togo calfskin, introduced in 1997 and named for the West African nation, carries a fine, springy grain that resists scratches and keeps its shape without the rigidity of box leather; black shows the grain at its most graphic. The gold-plated turnlock, clochette rings and feet lend a warmth that palladium cannot, dressing the bag up after dark while letting it live comfortably beside denim by day. Inside, a zipped pocket and open pouch keep the essentials ordered beneath the signature double handles.
