The Hermès Dépêches is the house's quiet answer to the briefcase — a flat, architectural silhouette drawn for the desk rather than the dinner table, and increasingly the piece collectors reach for when they want Hermès without spectacle. This example arrives in Gold, the warm tobacco-caramel that has come to define the maison's leather goods, worked in Togo calfskin and finished with palladium hardware. Togo is the reason this shape ages so gracefully. Its fine, raised grain resists the scuffing that flat leathers show within a season, and it holds the Dépêches' clean rectangular panels taut without the rigidity of Epsom.
