Few Hermès pieces hold the eye quite like a Kelly rendered in shiny Niloticus crocodile, and this Kelly 28 in Bordeaux is a study in restrained drama. The colour reads deep and wine-dark in shade, then lifts to a warm garnet the moment daylight touches it — a shifting quality that only the polished finish of Niloticus can produce. The 28 cm sellier construction gives the bag its architecture. Stitched with the seams on the outside, the sellier method holds the trapeze silhouette crisp and upright, so the crocodile scales run in clean, symmetrical rows across the front flap and body. Each scale has been individually selected and matched; the graduation from the fine, tight grain at the centre to the broader tiles at the edges is the mark of a hide chosen for a single bag rather than cut from a batch. Gold hardware is the natural companion to Bordeaux.
