A Kelly 35 in a dual-tone Horseshoe Stamp configuration — Gris Asphalte and Graphite in Epsom, finished with brushed palladium hardware. Special orders of this kind are conceived in direct conversation with the atelier and represent some of the most considered work the house produces. B stamp, 2023, brand new condition. Few silhouettes in the Hermès canon carry the authority of the Kelly 35. The 35-centimetre proportion is the roomier, more architectural reading of the model — structured enough to stand on its own, substantial enough to accommodate a day's requirements without concession. It is carried by hand or on the shoulder with equal conviction, and it moves between formal and working contexts without negotiation. The HSS pairing here sets Gris Asphalte against Graphite — two cool, stone-register greys that are close in family and meaningfully distinct in depth. Gris Asphalte reads as a mid-slate, the colour of overcast city light; Graphite sits darker, with a charcoal undertone that anchors it. On Epsom — a fine, cross-hatched calfskin with a tight, paint-ready grain — both colours render with unusual clarity and retain their separation. The leather holds its geometry, shows colour at its most saturated, and wears with considerable resilience. Brushed palladium hardware softens the metal's presence without reducing it, sitting in quiet accord with the grey register of both leathers.
