A Kelly Pochette Marquete in Box leather, worked in Noir, Blanc and Jaune de Naples with gold hardware. This is a formal piece in the truest sense — structured, considered, and intended to be carried rather than worn. G stamp, brand new condition. The Kelly Pochette sits at the furthest reach of the Kelly lineage: pared down to its essential geometry, worn as a clutch or tucked under the arm on its short strap. Marquete — the mosaic inlay technique applied across the exterior — elevates the silhouette from evening staple to something closer to an objet. It is the choice of someone who wants the Kelly's rigour without its volume, and is willing to accept no compromise on the craft involved. Noir provides the ground, with Blanc and Jaune de Naples set into it in the Marquete pattern. Jaune de Naples is a warm, egg-yolk yellow with Italian old-master associations — the name echoes the pigment used in Neapolitan painting for centuries.
