A Mini Kelly 20 in Bleu Abysse Box calf with permabrass hardware — one of the more deliberate combinations Hermès produces, chosen for depth rather than spectacle. Year K stamp, brand new condition. The Mini Kelly 20 sits at the compact end of the Kelly family, a size that retains every proportion of the original silhouette whilst asking nothing of the wearer in terms of physical effort. It functions as an evening bag for those who prefer structure to softness, and equally as a daytime piece for occasions that call for something considered. Its appeal is to the collector or the habitual Hermès client who wants the full weight of the house's most iconic form in a version that travels light. Bleu Abysse is named for the deep ocean — abyss in its French form — and the colour earns the reference. It is a blue that reads almost as a dark navy in low light and opens into a cooler, saturated mid-blue in daylight, without ever crossing into brightness. Box calf, with its tight, smooth grain and high-polish finish, is the leather that carries this depth most faithfully; the surface acts almost as a mirror, and the colour shifts perceptibly as the bag moves.
