Blue Zephyr is the quiet end of the Hermès blue register — a pale, faintly greyed sky tone that behaves as a neutral in daylight and lightens almost to white under a camera. It sits between Bleu Brume and Bleu Pâle, and it is a shade clients name specifically, usually only after they already own something in black. Gold hardware is the less obvious pairing and the more interesting one. Palladium against a pale blue is the safe answer; gold is the considered one. The warm metal draws a faint green out of the tone and gives the piece a vintage register that the white-metal version does not have — nearer a 1970s Kelly than a current-season release. Epsom is the leather that makes this work. Its pressed grain holds pale colour without absorbing it, so the blue stays even across the flap rather than pooling darker at the corners, and the leather's rigidity keeps the Mini Kelly II silhouette upright: square base, flat flap, sangles that lie exactly where they were sewn. Softer hides cannot do this at twenty centimetres. Blind stamp A. The condition is near mint — this bag has been kept rather than used. The corners are unrubbed, the turn-lock engages cleanly, the interior is unmarked and free of scent, and the piece is accompanied by its original receipt, dust bag, rain cover, clochette, keys and lock. Mini Kellys in pale Epsom with gold hardware surface infrequently, and rarely in this condition. This one is offered privately.
