A Mini Kelly in Bubblegum Epsom with palladium hardware — a piece that asks very little in the way of maintenance and gives a great deal in return. It carries well in the hand, on the shoulder or tucked under an arm with equal composure. Year U stamp, brand new condition. At twenty centimetres, this is the Kelly at its most concentrated. The silhouette is among the most recognised in Hermès's history, drawn from a structured bag the house had been making since the 1930s and carrying the name it was given in 1977. At this scale it is not a working bag; it is worn to dinner, to a gallery opening, to any occasion where the right thing is to carry very little very deliberately. It is the format collectors tend to reach for first when the objective is the Kelly form in its purest expression. Built on Epsom — a fine, cross-grained leather that is pressed to a tight, consistent texture and holds its structure without assistance — the Bubblegum reads as a warm, clear pink: more luminous than blush, less saturated than rose. The grain catches light evenly across the panels, keeping the colour consistent from every angle rather than allowing it to pool or shift the way a smoother leather might. Palladium hardware sits in cool silver tones that rest quietly against the pink rather than competing with it.
