Gold on Taurillon Clémence with gold hardware is the archetypal Picotin — the honey-tan neutral that carries through the widest range of London wardrobes and reads warmly against denim, cream, camel and olive. Against gold hardware, the metal disappears into the leather colour and the two blend into a single tonal reading. Taurillon Clémence is the softly grained Bull calfskin that Hermès uses for its most casual, wear-in leathers. Unlike the more structured Togo or Epsom, Clémence softens visibly over its first year — the base rounds, the sides settle, and the leather takes on a light patina that many clients specifically seek out. The Picotin is designed for this behaviour: no lining, no interior structure, no reinforcement to fight the leather's natural relaxation. At 18 cm it holds a phone, wallet, keys and a compact. Worn from the crook of the arm or by the top handles, it becomes the piece Hermès clients often carry to Portobello on a Saturday, or to a morning of appointments across Mayfair.
