Cactus is Hermès' vivid, cool-toned green — a shade that in shiny Porosus crocodile becomes almost jewel-like, catching and holding light along every scale. Against gold hardware the colour warms; against grey and off-white daywear it snaps back to cool. Very few Birkin 30s ever ship in Porosus, and vanishingly few in Cactus. Porosus is the small-scale saltwater crocodile that Hermès reserves for its most prized skins — flatter tiles, tighter symmetry, and a lacquered finish that requires a wet polish rather than the dry cloth of Togo or Epsom. Shiny Porosus scales must be matched across the front panel, the flap, the strap and the sangles — a single skin will rarely yield an entire Birkin 30, which is why lead times through the Hermès boutique for a made-to-order commission run several years. On this bag: perfectly aligned centre scales, unmarked lacquer, crisp saddle stitching in matching thread, gold hardware bright and unpitted, corners fully held. Stamped C and store fresh, with the felt sleeve still wrapping the sangles. The 30 is the Birkin size for a working day — laptop-adjacent, notebook-friendly — and Cactus Porosus turns that daily practicality into visible provenance. A bag that is recognised in seconds at a Mayfair table. Original box, dust bag, felt sleeves, raincoat, clochette, cadenas, keys and CITES paperwork included. Inspected at JULL London, available for private viewing by appointment at our Knightsbridge showroom. Priced without buyer fees. Enquire regarding CITES export routing for buyers outside the UK.
