The Kelly Dépêches is the Kelly turned briefcase-flat — Hermès' slim document pouch that borrows the Sellier flap, the sangles and the turn-lock from its namesake and strips away everything else. In Etoupe Togo with palladium hardware it is the most versatile expression of the reference: the house's famous warm taupe, on the leather Hermès clients trust most, in cool white metal. Etoupe needs little introduction. It is the neutral that made the Hermès colour chart famous — a grey-beige that reads warm against navy, cool against camel and correct against everything in between. In Togo, with its fine, even pebble grain, it hides handling and weather better than any smooth calf, which is precisely why the combination carries waiting lists in every size it is offered. The Dépêches format rewards those who carry little and choose well. An A5 notebook, a folio of papers, passport and phone slide flat behind the full-width flap; the palladium turn-lock closes with the same precise quarter-turn as a Kelly 25 at three times the price. Under the arm it reads as quiet Hermès literacy — recognisable to those who know, invisible to those who don't. This example is stamped G and in excellent pre-owned condition: the Togo grain even and unscuffed, the saddle stitching intact, the hardware showing only the lightest surface contact. It has been inspected and authenticated at JULL London. A second unit of a reference we rarely see twice — our previous Etoupe Dépêches placed within weeks of arriving. Priced at £8,400 without buyer fees and available immediately, with private viewing by appointment at our Knightsbridge showroom.
