Rouge H is the Hermès red that behaves like a neutral — the deep, oxblood claret the house first mixed in the 1920s and has never taken off the chart since. On a Kelly 25 in Madame calfskin with gold hardware, it is Hermès at its most quietly formal: a bag that reads across a dinner table as burgundy, in daylight as garnet, and in every light as unmistakably Faubourg. Madame is the connoisseur's structured leather — a fine-grained pressed calf developed for crisp Sellier work. It holds the Kelly's architecture with drafting-table precision: knife-straight top line, sharp corners, hand-lacquered edges. Where Togo relaxes and Swift slouches, Madame stands, empty or full, and its tight grain gives the Rouge H pigment unusual depth and saturation. Gold hardware — touret, sangles, clochette and the four base feet — warms the claret exactly where palladium would cool it. The 25 is the Kelly size London actually wears. Inside: phone, card holder, keys, lipstick. Carried by the handle it is formal; on the shoulder strap it relaxes into the everyday, moving from a morning in the office to dinner without apology.
