The Kelly's journey from 1930s saddle-stitched satchel to modern icon has produced many descendants, but none so aligned with the present as the Kelly To Go — the house's wallet-on-strap, worn across the body and carried everywhere. The format takes everything ceremonial about the original — the front straps, the turning touret, the precisely mitred flap — and scales it to the dimensions of modern life: a phone, a passport, a card case, little more. It is the rare case of the maison designing for how its clients actually live. This example is cut in Epsom with gold hardware, the pairing that dresses the piece up rather than down. Epsom, an embossed calfskin, is prized here for two reasons: it weighs almost nothing, and it keeps the flat planes of the design immaculately straight through years of daily wear. The gold-plated fittings against crisp leather lend a piece of this size a presence usually reserved for full bags. Gold hardware warms whatever it touches, and on a slim silhouette it reads as jewellery first and function second. Worn over knitwear it is discreet; over an evening dress it is complete. Kelly To Go production remains deliberately limited; the model was an immediate sell-out on introduction and boutique allocations have never caught up with demand. It is now among the most requested small pieces in the entire catalogue, and examples reaching the open market are collected within days.
