The Hermès Birkin Picnic 25 in Gold Swift with hand-woven Auvergne wicker is one of the most coveted Birkin variations of the past decade — a piece that fuses the maison's saddlery heritage with French countryside artisanship. Year W (2024) production, brand new condition. Originally introduced in 2011 and discontinued, the Picnic Birkin returned in limited runs that immediately enter aftermarket waitlists. The body is constructed from straw wicker woven by artisans in Auvergne and dyed to harmonise with Hermès's natural leather palette. Swift leather — a soft, milled calf with a satin-smooth surface — forms the handles, sangles, lining and base trim, in Gold: the historic warm honey-tan that defined the very first Birkin Hermès produced for Jane Birkin in 1984. Gold Swift develops a remarkable patina over time, deepening into amber. Palladium hardware in cool platinum-group white provides high-contrast counterpoint to the warm leather and wicker. The 25cm silhouette — the most fashion-driven Birkin proportion — keeps the piece resolutely modern despite its rustic materials. Interior accommodates a long-form wallet, phone and small essentials.
