A Birkin 25 in Jaune Poussin Togo with palladium hardware — a combination that is at once direct and considered. The scale keeps it compact without feeling precious, and the leather grounds a colour that might otherwise read as showy. Stamp B (2023), new and never carried. Within the Birkin family, the 25 occupies a particular position. It carries less than the 30 or 35, which sharpens the edit: what goes in is what is needed. The result is a bag worn close to the body, structured enough to hold its shape through long days, and proportioned for both city mornings and evenings that run late. It is the size that asks something of its owner, and rewards that discipline. Jaune Poussin translates literally as chick yellow — the yellow of something newly hatched, soft and warm rather than sharp. On Togo, a pebbled calfskin with a natural suppleness and a degree of resilience to everyday contact, the colour reads as saturated but not harsh. The grain softens its intensity; in lower light it deepens, in daylight it opens fully. It is a yellow that registers as a choice, not an accident. Palladium hardware finishes the piece with a cool, brushed tone that sits cleanly against the warmth of the leather.
