A Birkin 30 in Etoupe Togo with gold hardware — one of the most consistently sought-after configurations Hermès produces, and one that arrives here in brand new condition. G stamp, 2026. At thirty centimetres, the Birkin occupies a position that the house has never needed to explain. It is the size that works across the widest range of occasions without concession: structured enough for a meeting, compact enough for an evening that runs later than planned. Togo, with its pebbled surface and inherent resilience, is what most people who actually use their bags reach for — it resists the marks that softer leathers accumulate, and it holds its form through weather and wear in a way that rewards daily use rather than penalising it. Etoupe is a grey that has warm undertones rather than cool ones — closer to a weathered linen or a pale mushroom than to anything steely or cold. The name is the French word for oakum, the fibrous material once used in shipbuilding, which gives some sense of the colour's earthen quality. The Hermès Birkin 30 in Etoupe Togo measures about 30 cm wide, 22 cm high and 16 cm deep. It is made in Togo, a grained calfskin with a soft, slightly slouchy hand that resists scratches. The hardware is gold-plated, on the turn-lock, padlock, keys and feet. The Birkin has two rolled top handles, flap and straps closing on a turn-lock, clochette with padlock and two keys, four protective feet; inside it is lined in matching chèvre goatskin, with one zipped pocket and one open slip pocket. Blind stamp G dates it to 2026.
