Terre Cuite is a recent Hermès colour: a sun-baked terracotta-orange that reads warmer and more sophisticated than classic Orange H, evoking the patinated rooftops of Provence and the unglazed clay vessels of the Mediterranean basin. It works beautifully against ostrich's distinctive quill-pattern texture, where each follicle reflects light independently, giving the surface its signature dimensional depth. Hermès ostrich is sourced from a single accredited South African farm and tanned in the maison's own ateliers. Each skin requires twelve to eighteen months of preparation.
