The Hermès Dépêches in Etoupe Togo with palladium hardware is a discreetly luxurious briefcase-format Hermès piece. Year G stamp, preloved condition. The Dépêches — named after the French word for diplomatic despatches — is a slim flat-format briefcase or document bag originally designed for the carry of papers and folios. It descends from the maison's late-nineteenth-century luggage and travel-document repertoire, and remains one of the most quietly professional pieces in the contemporary Hermès catalogue. The format suits everyday document and laptop transport across professional contexts. Etoupe — the maison's most universally flattering neutral, a warm grey-taupe — reads particularly well in the briefcase format, where the colour disappears into both professional and casual contexts.
