The Kelly 25 in Rouge H Epsom with gold hardware is the house's most storied red on its most disciplined leather — a combination that sits permanently near the top of collectors' request lists. Year G stamp, store-fresh condition with its original receipt, £23,000. Rouge H is the oldest colour in the current Hermès palette, first developed in the 1920s and named simply for the house itself. It is a deep, burnished oxblood — darker than Rouge Casaque, warmer than Bordeaux — that reads almost brown in low light and blooms into rich red in the sun. It is one of the few shades regarded as beyond fashion entirely: a Rouge H Kelly looks correct in any decade, which is precisely why demand for it never softens. Epsom, Hermès's fine-grained embossed calfskin, is the ideal partner.
