Hermès Petit H Robot Rouge Sellier - Cassis

A work of singular character from Hermès's Petit H atelier, this robot figure arrives in rouge sellier and cassis — two of the house's most considered reds — crafted from offcuts of leather that would otherwise go unused. Brand new condition. Petit H is the creative laboratory within Hermès: pieces made by artisans working freely with surplus leathers and materials, each one produced in tiny numbers and never repeated in exactly the same form. This robot belongs to a lineage of sculptural objects that the house has made under the Petit H name — things that sit at the edge of function, valued as much for what they are to look at as for what they do. Collectors reach for them; so do those who want something from the house that no boutique runway will replicate. Rouge sellier is a pure, saturated red — the colour of the house's iconic box stitching thread, vivid without veering warm. Cassis is a deep blue-red, the shade of blackcurrant, almost aubergine in low light. Together they read as a considered contrast: one forward and bright, the other receding and rich. On the densely worked leather surfaces typical of Petit H constructions, the two colours hold their difference rather than merging. Hardware is not a feature of this piece.
