Each Tablier Sellier carries individual character: subtle variations in the natural canvas weave, the precise depth of the Hunter saddle leather, and the development of patina with use. This example shows a particularly well-preserved Toile canvas section and Hunter saddle leather with the beginnings of a beautiful patina. The Tablier Sellier descends directly from Hermès's saddlery heritage: a contemporary shoulder bag rendered through the technical vocabulary of the traditional saddle blanket. Three materials are combined: Hunter (a heavy vegetable-tanned saddle calfskin), Swift (the soft milled calfskin), and Toile (the iconic Hermès natural canvas). Gold hardware in warm yellow tone is the traditional saddlery complement — evoking polished bridle work and turn-of-century equestrian metalwork.
