The Birkin 30 in black Chèvre Coromandel with gold hardware is a study in the dialogue between Hermès's most beloved goat leather and the canonical black-and-gold palette. Year B stamp, store-fresh condition. Chèvre is one of the most distinctive leathers in Hermès's repertoire: a goatskin with a natural crystalline grain that catches light across hundreds of micro-facets. It is lightweight, scratch-resistant, holds saturated colour with exceptional fidelity, and develops a soft burnished sheen over time. In black, Chèvre reads almost like dark patinated wood — alive in the way the surface responds to light, never flat. The Birkin 30 silhouette is the original Jane Birkin size from the 1984 commission, and it remains the most usable size for collectors who carry the bag daily.
