The Birkin 30 in black Madame with gold hardware is one of the most quietly classical Birkin 30s in current production — the most beloved Birkin proportion in a relatively recent structural calfskin, with historic gold hardware. Year D stamp, unworn condition. Madame is one of the more recent additions to the Hermès leather repertoire: a smooth, semi-matte calfskin that sits between Epsom's glassy structural finish and Box Calf's polished reflectivity. It offers structural precision with a softer surface gloss than Epsom and a less reflective register than Box, holding shape with absolute precision while reading slightly warmer than the printed-grain leathers. In black, Madame produces a deep matte register with subtle highlights along stress points. The Birkin 30 is the original Jane Birkin proportion, designed in 1984 for true daily capacity. Gold hardware in warm yellow tone is the historic classical complement to black leather — the contrast is high but harmonious, the bag reading as both saddlery-tradition and contemporary fashion object.
