A Birkin 30 in Gold Togo with palladium hardware — this is the configuration most often described as the standard against which others are measured. It arrives in brand new condition. Year K stamp, 2025. Within the Hermès canon, the Birkin 30 occupies a particular position: substantial enough to function as a daily working bag, contained enough to sit beside a boardroom chair or on a restaurant banquette without imposing. It is the size that the house's craftspeople and their customers have spent decades calibrating for exactly this kind of versatility. Those who reach for it tend to want one bag that does not require a decision each morning. Gold is not yellow, and in Togo it does not read as such. The tone sits closer to warm caramel or pale cognac — a colour with depth that shifts under different light without ever becoming ambiguous. Togo's slightly pebbled surface absorbs that warmth evenly, giving the leather a matte richness that ages gracefully and resists the minor indignities of daily use more readily than smoother calves. The name refers simply to the calf from which the leather is produced; the colour has been in the Hermès vocabulary long enough that it functions almost as a neutral. The palladium hardware is bright without being cold, its silvery finish complementing Gold without competing with it. The Hermès Birkin 30 in Gold Togo measures about 30 cm wide, 22 cm high and 16 cm deep. It is made in Togo, a grained calfskin with a soft, slightly slouchy hand that resists scratches. The hardware is palladium-plated, a cool silver tone, on the turn-lock, padlock, keys and feet. The Birkin has two rolled top handles, flap and straps closing on a turn-lock, clochette with padlock and two keys, four protective feet; inside it is lined in matching chèvre goatskin, with one zipped pocket and one open slip pocket. Blind stamp K dates it to 2025.
