The Birkin 30 Himalayan in niloticus crocodile with palladium hardware is among the most prestigious pieces Hermès produces. Year Y stamp, store-fresh condition. In the larger 30cm proportion, the Himalayan gradient — fading from smoky pearl-grey at the base to pristine snow-white at the top — has more surface area to develop its full theatrical sweep. The 30 is the original Birkin size, designed for Jane Birkin in 1984, and remains the daily-carry choice for collectors who use the bag rather than vault it. The interior comfortably holds a tablet, long-form wallet, agenda, phone and small leather goods. Hermès sources its niloticus crocodile from a single accredited South African farm operating under the maison's own welfare and traceability standards. Each skin spends twelve to eighteen months in the tannery before cutting. The Himalayan finish itself is a proprietary multi-stage dye process: only the most uniformly-square-scaled skins qualify, and master colourists hand-grade the gradient on every single piece. Production is capped at single-digit annual output. Palladium hardware preserves the icy white character of the surface. The bag arrives sourced through JULL's direct global trade network from authenticated boutique provenance. Original box, raincoat, dust bag, lock, keys, clochette, ribbon and full CITES documentation included. Private viewing by appointment in our Knightsbridge showroom.
