Hermès Birkin 25 Flamingo Niloticus Crocodile PHW
Niloticus Crocodile · Palladium (PHW)
Details
The piece in detail
Some Hermès colours arrive quietly and stay for decades. Flamingo is not one of them. It appears rarely, almost always on exotic skins, and it turns heads in a way no neutral ever will — a warm coral that reads pink in soft daylight and closer to a sunlit orange under gallery lighting. On a Birkin 25 in niloticus crocodile the shade becomes something else again: every scale holds the pigment at a slightly different depth, so the surface shifts and breathes as the bag moves. Niloticus is the crocodile skin Hermès reserves for its most considered pieces. The scales are small, square and remarkably regular, tapering with quiet precision towards the flap and the base of the handles. Placement here is exact — the centre panel graduates symmetrically outwards, the tonal saddle stitching disappears into the pattern, and the natural grain frames the turn-lock rather than competing with it. Palladium hardware is the right decision on a colour of this warmth. Cool, bright and understated, it keeps the coral from tipping into anything decorative and gives the piece a modern balance that gold hardware would soften. The bag carries the Square Q blind stamp and is complete with clochette, keys, lock and padlock cover. At twenty-five centimetres the Birkin is at its most wearable proportion: compact enough for evening, structured enough to carry a card case, phone and lipstick without losing its line. Crocodile in this size leaves the atelier in very small numbers each year, and Flamingo in particular is unlikely to return. Priced at £33,300. Available now at JULL London, where every piece is inspected and authenticated in house before it is listed. Private viewings are offered by appointment and worldwide shipping is arranged on request.
